Looks OK and inexpensive
I'm planning to use this, along with "Statistics Workbook for Dummies" (same author, ISBN 978-0-7645-8466-4) for teaching this fall. Together, they cover the basics, give students lots of practice, and include economics (as well as other) examples, are user-friendly, seem to be largely accurate in what they cover, and are CHEAP. The downsides are (1) since these are designed for self-study, the instructor will have to write his or her own problem sets and exam questions (though many could be epsilon away from the worked-out workbook exercises) and computer problems (2) Some topics I've covered in the past, including the binomial distribution, multiple regression, ANOVA and F-tests are not covered. These are, however, covered in "Statistical Analysis with Excel for Dummies" (Joseph Schmuller, ISBN 0-7645-7594-5), which could be assigned, as well. All three books together would still cost less than half of what a standard textbook goes for.
